"Country roots-pop, dashed with the genius songwriting of 60's & 70's power-pop, like a curious, accidental mix of the Mavericks, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison and the Beatles" - CD Baby
"For the retro-pop enthusiast among your friends, there's no better cure than a visit from The Taters. Their rootsy pop-rock works off the Bakersfield country twang of Buck Owens and the vocal warmth of Roy Orbison or the Everly Brothers." - Durham Herald-Sun
"HELP! These tunes are infectious and there seems to be no cure! (Who wants one? Not me!). All I know is that I put on their music, and suddenly I discover that I'm smiling from ear to ear. They are great musicians whose sound is pure and honest. They can REALLY sing!" - listener review from BestBuy

| Start with the first track of the aptly named "Menagerie" and let it roll for a phenomenal listening experience. This album has it all in a nice mix of originals and covers that are sure to leave you with a smile... The musicianship on here is just superb, including some horns, a mandolin, a banjo, and probably some other things I can't identify! Craig Evans (who sounds a lot like Roy Orbison or Raul Malo or Elvis) and Brad Tucker have a magical blend and harmonies that simply have to be heard. In short, if you like your music uncomplicated, pure and sure to stick with you, try out Menagerie. You won't be disappointed. Customer review, Amazon.com |

Just One Night (2005)Our first live album, recorded in, well, just one night, at a show in Ashland, VA (for real!). The album features a few new songs, several new versions of earlier tunes, and some of the most popular cover requests from our live shows, including songs from Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Steve Earle, Simon & Garfunkle, and more. A consistent fan favourite! |
