Bryan & Katherine Harvey Family
We lost Bryan Harvey on January 1, 2006, along with his wife Kathryn and their daughters Stella and Ruby. Here are a few links with information on how some folks are honoring their memory

MP3s we made

Washington Post
Maria hosts this site of music from around the DC & VA areas. the Taters have been spotlighted several times on her site.

Soundclick
SoundClick is a great, fast-loading website for info on various bands, including we Taters 3.

Other Musicians, Artists & Folks

Critterhall
Craig's wife Tamara is the creator of these odd little critters. Check 'em out!

Jeremy Witt
Jeremy has provided many of the photos of the Taters over the last several years. His website showcases some of his fine photos, as well as his new book! Go visit!

George Garrett Furniture
Check out some of George's work

The Grandsons
One of our favorite bands. One fan described their music as "American music in a blender with the lid off." check out their website and don't miss their shows!

Richmond Roots Revival
Check out this new series around town. Hosted by Dickie and Jamie Wood , the series is "a platform for local bands/artists who concentrate on original music. Many different genres of music" are invited, and so far the shows have ranged from rootsy, alt-country to full-blown power-pop. We Taters love the idea of something that celebrates a unity among area musicians - we're in this thing together, so get out and help support this effort! (Check out Dickie & Jamie's band The Atkinsons while you're at it!)

Bill Kirchen
Simply one of the best players & performers out there! We played a show with him recently, and it was, indeed, too much fun! Go see him, tell him The Taters send you!

The Slack Family
Style Magazine said, "From the first thumping stand-up bass notes and rousing harmonies to the closing notes some 43 minutes later, the Slack Family’s newest traditional bluegrass release is mostly top-drawer stuff. The boys rely on wood and steel to present a sound that’s tasty, sincere and fun." Stop by their site and set a'spell.

Buttercup
The Detroit News calls Buttercup "an original sound, citing influences ranging from George Jones to Dean Martin to Mickey Spillane... a cure for that fake country music flowing out of Nashville". Check 'em out on MySpace or head straight to CDBaby for their album.

Geh Wokka
All I can tell you is he's on a first name basis with the inscrutable Mr. Molio. You can also go here to listen to some of his sonic machinations.

Charles "King" Arthur
Charles Arthur is a versatile multi-instrumentalist who has occassionally been seen playing shows around the country with Slaid Cleaves, Caroline Herring, and Wayne 'the Train' Hancock. He's also recorded with the Taters, and performed with us on several occasions. Don't miss his shows!

Scott Brookman
Scott Brookman's pop sound is "an outgrowth of '60s and '70s musical influences enhanced by the development of modern recording and communication technologies. His goal is simply to make "good-feeling, good-sounding pop music." Check out his recordings!

Ira Marlowe
In between tastes of GLORY shows at the Fillmore, Great American Music Hall, Slim's, numerous songwriting awards Ira Marlowe has has endured all that a life on the fringes of the music business can offer. After fifteen years, five smarmy managers and three failed record deals, you'd think he'd have the good sense to quit. Instead, he's just released his best work ever! A long-time Tater acquaintance with some truly wonderful tunes!

"There are very few songwriters with the originality and imagination of Ira Marlowe...
A major-league talent that deserves to be heard." --Performing Songwriter

The Atkinsons
We recently played a show with these folks. Nice buncha people, and some great roots rockin' original tunes in the alt-country style, reminiscent of the Old 97s.

Stephen Christoff
Based out of Williamsburg. Stephen has sat in with the Taters on several occasions, playing his octave mandolin & musical saw. This is a performer not to be missed! Click here for Stephen's music.

Jimmie Dale Gilmore
Simply one of our favorite writers, singers, performers and Zen cowboys!

Albert & Gage
Christine Albert & Chris Gage are touring with Jimmie Dale, and have some great music out on their own. We recently saw these two live, and they were great!

Nick Lowe
A big Tater influence for years. This is one of the best Basher sites around. Click here for Nick's music.

Brian Wilson
One of the best there's ever been!

Vic Mizzy
Craig says, "If my life had a soundtrack, it would probably say 'Music by Vic Mizzy' right up front! Any man who's credits include 'The Addams Family', 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken' and 'Green Acres' is on my guest list every time!"

Raymond Scott
A fabulous site dedicated to the music and genius of Raymond Scott (1908 - 1994). You've heard his tunes in WB cartoons and in films, but if you're unfamiliar with his work, check out this site! While you're there, read up on the Beau Hunks

Some more of our Richmond area favourites...

Matthew Costello
Kim Buchanan
The Bopcats (Brad's Alma Mater)
Susan Greenbaum

Stuff we read & places we go

Ashland Coffee and Tea
One of our favorite places to play.

Tater Sightings

From time to time folks send us info on other strange confluences in the Tater universe. Here are a few of our favorites...

Tater Vox
Strange? True! Tater Vox is a band from Ontario. What are the chances?

The Tatters
Watch that spelling! The Tatters are a vocal group based out of the L.A. area. Check out this review: "It's pretty hard to describe the Tatters' music other than to say the vocals are great. Every song is different from the one before, so if you don't like one, just wait a minute. There's folk, country, swing, a cappella, a song in Spanish, Hawaiian music, calypso--pretty much everything but metal, punk and rap. " Sound like any other group we know?

Just... stuff!

Rock & Roll Dad
Created By: Peter Bagge and Dana Gould
The almost - true story of a rock band, a jealous father, and a martini - soaked liver. The Murray Wilson story as it was meant to be told! (warning - not all of this is "family friendly"!)

Net Future
